The International Youth Orchestra Arts Week took place in Beijing from July 18 to 24, bringing together ensembles and conductors from Turkmenistan, Austria, Bulgaria, Mexico, Indonesia, Russia, and China, as reported by the medeniyet.gov.tm.
The country was represented at the forum by the Mukam violin ensemble, which included students from the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory and students from the Special Music Boarding School.
As part of the competition program, the ensemble, led by People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Harold Isaakovich Neimark, performed world classical masterpieces. The Turkmen musicians’ mastery was highly praised by the international panel of judges. Following the competition, the Mukam ensemble was awarded the prestigious Classical Orchestra Prize, a cup, and a special winner’s diploma. The awards ceremony took place on July 21 at the National Theater in Beijing.
In addition to participating in the competition, the violinists performed at leading venues in Beijing and attended master classes with Austrian conductor Professor Christoph Kempestri at the Sun Ching Ling China Youth Science and Culture Center. Upon completion of the educational program, the ensemble received certificates for their contribution to the development of international creative exchange and high performing arts.
