In Ashgabat, as part of the Turkmen Carpet Festival celebrations, a ceremony was held to present a special diploma from the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) to the State Association “Türkmenhaly,” as reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
The award was given for significant contributions to the development of carpet weaving in the Turkic world. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the best carpet weavers.
Speaking at the ceremony, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev emphasized that the Turkmen carpet is an invaluable treasure not only for the Turkmen people but for the entire Turkic world. He noted that these carpets are not simply textiles, but a material treasure that embodies the historical roots, artistic creativity, and spiritual heritage of the Turkic peoples, making a significant contribution to world culture.
On behalf of the international organization, Sultan Raev expressed deep gratitude to the State Association “Türkmenhaly” and leading carpet weavers for their achievements in developing and improving the ancient craft of carpet weaving in modern conditions.
