On April 24, a working meeting was held in Moscow at the TASS news agency. Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia, the CIS Executive Committee, and the agency’s management participated.
Embassy Counselor Serdar Durdyev and Press Attaché Gulyalek Chopanova represented the Turkmen side. Also participating in the talks were TASS Deputy Director General Alexander Kopnov, Head of the Press Service of the CIS Executive Committee Svetlana Malinina, and editorial experts from neighboring countries Georgy Kazachkov and Boris Grushin.
The central topic was the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan’s state media and the CIS Information Council. The parties discussed content exchange mechanisms and the development of joint media projects.
Information support for Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS and events marking the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth held a special place on the agenda. Participants also outlined a plan for covering the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, with a view to reaching a broad international audience.
