On April 28, a meeting was held between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiyev, and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Turkmenistan, Hamdy Shaaban Abdelhalim Mohamed. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas for further development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side provided detailed information on the reforms being implemented in the national education system, the development of digital education, the improvement of foreign language teaching, as well as ongoing efforts to advance natural and technical sciences.
The parties paid special attention to improving the legal framework for cooperation, enhancing collaboration in the fields of education and innovation, and implementing future joint initiatives. These include launching exchange programs for faculty members and students, organizing joint seminars, and carrying out research projects in the areas of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
In particular, from the Egyptian side it was proposed to organize online meetings in order to explore the possibility of signing bilateral cooperation documents between the ministries of education and higher educational institutions of the two countries, to offer scholarship places for Turkmen students at higher education institutions in Egypt, and to organize short-term courses for Turkmen students majoring in international relations and the Arabic language.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to work jointly on the implementation of the proposed initiatives.
