Representatives of Turkmenistan took part in the II International Festival of Young Poets of the Turkic World, which was held on July 16–17 in Azerbaijan.

The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized this large-scale cultural event. The forum’s grand opening took place as part of the Vagif Poetry Days on the square in front of the eminent poet’s museum and reserve complex in Shusha.

The Turkmen delegation included renowned creative figures: Kerim Hallyev, director of a dance group from the Lebap velayat; Garahanjar Bayhanov, correspondent for the children’s magazine “Gunesh”; and Yusuf Meredov, a student at the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory.

Following the festival, the Turkmen participants received high praise from the international panel of judges and organizers. Kerim Hallyev and Garahanjar Bayhanov were awarded the Molla Penah Vagif medal for their significant contribution to the development of culture, art, and literature in the Turkic world. Yusuf Meredov received a special diploma from TURKSOY.

The successful performance of Turkmen representatives at the festival in Shusha was further confirmation of the country’s active participation in strengthening friendly and cultural-humanitarian ties between Turkic-speaking states.
