An international gala concert featuring leading opera singers from member countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) will take place in the Turkmen capital on May 2 and 3. The event is timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary of the birth of Veli Mukhatov, a prominent composer and founder of Turkmen classical music.
The concerts will take place on the stage of the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center. Opera soloists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, as well as renowned vocalists from Turkmenistan, will perform on the same stage. The State Symphony Orchestra will provide musical accompaniment, with a program featuring works from both world classics and the national repertoire.
The organizers view the forum not only as a tribute to the great master but also as a platform for strengthening humanitarian ties between Turkic-speaking states. According to the project participants, Mukhatov’s creative legacy has long transcended the confines of national culture and has become part of the global musical heritage.
