Physical culture, sports, and cultural events marking World Health Day, celebrated on April 7th in Turkmenistan, began with student competitions in volleyball, futsal, basketball, and table tennis.
The opening ceremony of the student games, organized by the Ministry of Education, the Magtymguly Youth Organization, the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, and the National Student Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, was held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. The event featured a vibrant musical and sports festival. Spectators enjoyed thrilling athletic performances and an energetic concert. The “Kushdepdi” dance, performed by talented gymnasts, drew particular admiration.
Following the ceremony, the first futsal match took place, with the team from the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction defeating their rivals from the S.A. Nyyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, 4-2.
As part of World Health Day, various forums, educational and cultural events, sports competitions, and ceremonial sports events will also be organized in the regions of the country, as well as in Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, on April 7th. These events will include the participation of students from comprehensive secondary schools, students from higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, employees of institutions and enterprises, and athletes.
To promote a healthy lifestyle and popularize physical education and sports, bicycle rides and various physical education and sports events are also planned.
