Renowned Soviet and Russian television host and People’s Artist of Russia Yuri Nikolaev has died at the age of 76. Nikolai Tsiskaridze, rector of the Agrippina Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and People’s Artist of Russia, announced this on his Telegram channel.
His family also confirmed his death to the Tass agency. Nikolaev would have turned 77 in December.
“Yuri Nikolaev has gone to heaven… The news just arrived that he has passed away… How sad! Let’s remember him together… Blessed memory,” Tsiskaridze wrote.
Yuri Nikolaev was a Russian television host, actor, and producer. He is known for his appearances on the television programs “Morning Mail,” “Morning Star,” “Heritage of the Republic,” “In Our Time,” and “Honest Word with Yuri Nikolaev.” He also starred in films such as “Big Hauls,” “Girl from Cell No. 25,” “Before Parting,” and others.
