On November 21, the list of films submitted for consideration by the expert council of the Open Eurasian Film Award “Diamond Butterfly” was announced.
The list of nominees includes the feature film “The Composer”, produced in Turkmenistan, as well as the joint Turkmen-Uzbek project “Magtymguly”.
A total of 34 films from various countries are participating in the competition: Russia, China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Venezuela, Cuba, Senegal, South Africa, Pakistan, Belarus, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, and others.
The “Diamond Butterfly” award ceremony will take place on 27 November at Nikita Mikhalkov’s Workshop “12”. Within the framework of the award, 12 prizes will be presented, including an award for contribution to world cinema. The winners are determined by the vote of the expert council.
The nominations include: Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Cinematographer, Composer, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Production Designer, and Best Film from a Country Outside the Eurasian Region.
The main winner will receive a prize of 1 million dollars, while the others will receive 250 thousand dollars each.
