Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship Oguljahan Atabayeva led the Turkmen delegation to the People’s Republic of China. Atabayeva held meetings with the Minister of Education of the PRC Huai Jinpeng, Deputy Chairman of the State Health Committee Zeng Yixin, Head of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation Li Bin, and Mayor of Shanghai Gong Zheng.
The parties discussed prospects for exchanging experience in the field of modern educational and medical programs, as well as the possibility of joint work on humanitarian initiatives. Inclusive education and children’s healthcare were priority topics.
The Turkmen side showed interest in the Chinese experience of working with children with special needs, modern methods of treatment and rehabilitation, as well as programs for improving the qualifications of medical personnel.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation. The document provides for joint activities in the field of children’s health, educational programs and expansion of humanitarian partnership.
Excursions to cultural and educational centers of China allowed the delegation members to become familiar with innovative teaching and upbringing methods, as well as national traditions.
