The capital city of Ashgabat has set the stage for one of the most significant events in the history of domestic chess — the Turkmenistan Team Chess Championship. The tournament is taking place from March 22 to 28 at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of Ashgabat.
This competition is being held for the first time since the country gained independence, opening a new chapter in the development of team chess in Turkmenistan.
Twelve of the nation’s strongest teams are participating in the championship, representing sports schools, higher education institutions, government agencies, and public organizations.

”LEBAPCHESS-1″ – Sports and Physical Culture Committee of Lebap Province
”LEBAPCHESS-2″ – Sports and Physical Culture Committee of Lebap Province
”GALKAN” – “Galkan” Sports Club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan
”TALYP SPORT” – State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan
”KÜŞT ÄLEMI” – “Kusht Alemi” Chess Academy
”PETRO-CANADA” – “Halk Hazyna” Business Entity (ES)
