On July 14, a ceremony was held at Incheon International Airport in the Republic of Korea to open the first regular passenger flight on the Ashgabat-Seoul-Ashgabat route.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials of the Republic of Korea, including Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Lee Hak-yong, Director General for Aviation Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yong-kuk, Business development director of Incheon Airport Corporation Sang-yong Lee, CEO and Chairman of the “Pacific Air Agency” Park John Pil, representatives of Korean companies and the media, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Service “Türkmenhowaýollary” N.Kakabaev and employees of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea.
During the event, speakers noted that the opening of direct flights is a clear indication of the growing level of Turkmen-Korean relations.
Ambassador B.Durdyev in his speech emphasized the current state of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea. A program of events in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the proclamation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” was also presented.
After the performances, the participants ceremonially cut the ribbon, officially opening the passenger flight, and took a group commemorative photo.
