India and Russia signed several agreements and memorandums of understanding on Friday in areas including migration, labor mobility, healthcare, food security, maritime cooperation, and trade.
The bilateral agreements were signed in New Delhi in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was in India on a two-day state visit that concluded on Friday.
Furthermore, on the occasion of Putin’s visit, India announced that it would offer Russian citizens a free 30-day e-tourist visa on a reciprocal basis.
According to a joint statement, Putin and Modi reaffirmed their support for further strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries.
The parties reaffirmed their intention to expand cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, including the nuclear fuel cycle and the lifecycle of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
