Fishermen caught two rare fish of the Telia Bhola species at the source of the Digha River in the Indian state of West Bengal. The fish, weighing about 50 kilograms, were popular with locals and brokers.
According to local traders, the price of one kilogram of such fish at auction reaches 85 dollars. As a result, having sold two fish, the fishermen earned 3800 dollars. According to eyewitnesses, the price of the fish rose sharply during the bargaining process.
Experts attribute the high prices to the peculiarities of this species. The main feature of the Telia Bhola fish is, first of all, its swim bladder, which is used in the production of fish glue and other products. This product is in high demand on the international market and is sold at a high price, which directly affects the price of the fish.
