On May 13, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Austria Hemra Amannazarov made a presentation at the Austrian Parliament in Vienna. In his speech, he outlined the political and socio-economic developments in Turkmenistan, emphasizing the initiatives and efforts of the country’s leadership to strengthen democratic institutions, promote inclusive governance and facilitate sustainable economic growth.
Special attention was given to the development of regional cooperation, particularly within the framework of the Central Asia–European Union partnership. The Ambassador spoke about Turkmenistan’s active role in this format, including the successful hosting of the 20th EU–Central Asia Ministerial Meeting, held in Ashgabat on March 27, 2025. The meeting reaffirmed shared interest in expanding dialogue, connectivity, and joint initiatives between the regions.
The event served as a constructive platform for exchanging views on regional connectivity, strengthening economic ties and deepening political partnerships. Austrian parliamentarians welcomed the insights and expressed readiness to further strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation with Turkmenistan and the other countries of Central Asia.
