The Russian film company “Vechny Zov” together with the Serbian TV channel Balkan Trip TV visited the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the film crew’s visit was to create a story for the TV channel dedicated to the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and unique attractions of the country, as reported turkmenistan.gov.tm.
During the visit, the guests were acquainted with the intricacies of the Turkmen zergers. The ancient jewelry art, passed down from generation to generation, remains relevant today. Young jewelers of the Academy learn the secrets of craftsmanship from experienced specialists, mastering traditional techniques such as coinage, blackening and inlay.
The museum of the Academy’s art center hosted a lively conversation about the artistic features of Turkmen jewelry, unique ways of making jewelry, and the use of various metal samples, tools, and materials.
The culmination of the meeting was a practical master class in the jewelry art-training hall. The guests learned about various types of national jewelry such as “gulýaka”, “tumar”, “bilezik” and their cultural significance.
