Lê Minh Hung, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee of the Party, was elected Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the Vietnamese state news agency VNA reported on Tuesday.
“The National Assembly voted to approve the resolution electing Comrade Lê Minh Hung, a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee, and a member of the 16th National Assembly, as Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026-2031 term,” the statement read.
The new prime minister took the oath of office and addressed the National Assembly, the agency reported.
