Yesterday, the Culture Days Libyan launched at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan, organized by the Embassy of the State of Libya in Ashgabat cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. The event attended by employees of diplomatic missions of our country, residents and guests of the capital, and journalists.
An exhibition was organized on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Culture Days in order to study and present to the public the national cultural heritage of the state of Libya, which is known as one of the economically powerful and rapidly developing countries of the Middle East. The exhibition showcased the historical art of Islamic culture, Arabic calligraphy and Libyan national costumes, works of art written by Turkmen scholars in Arabic, as well as Libyan national sweets. In addition, photographs were displayed that introduce the national traditions, cultural heritage, and history of Libya.
The event began with opening speechs by the Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the State of Libya to Turkmenistan. The sides noted that this cultural exchange event between Turkmenistan and Libya will further contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries. The Ambassador also expressed his immense gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to take place the event in a highly organized manner.
During the opening ceremony, videos were shown introducing the culture, national heritage, and nature of Libya. Then, a demonstration of Libyan national costumes was held. These are Al Holi Al Bodri, Al Badla Al Kabira (Big Badla), Al Badla Al Sagira (Little Badla), Blue Dress with Golden Stripes, Brown Dress with Golden Lines, Al-Abruk, Blue Dress with Golden Tassels, Black Dress with Golden Tassels, and Black Wool Dress, which Libyan women wear during weddings, ceremonies, and in the daily life.
Within the framework of the Days of Culture of the State of Libya, a conference entitled “The Role of Turkmen Scientists in Revealing the Cultural Progress of Humanity and Enriching the Arabic Language and Islamic Education” will be held. Also, on May 3, a joint concert of Libyan and Turkmen musicians will close the Days of Culture.
