The Lithuanian Parliament has approved the former Minister of Social Security and Labor, 44-year-old Inga Ruginienė from the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, as the country’s
Prime Minister, Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT) reported. According to the Constitution of Lithuania, the President with the approval of the Parliament appoints the Prime Minister. President Gitanas Nausėda had already nominated Ruginienė for the post of Prime Minister at the previous session, and now the Parliament has approved her. 78 members of the Seimas voted “for”, 35 “against”, and 14 abstained.
