According to preliminary results released Tuesday by the Directorate General of Elections, Guinea’s transitional president, Mamady Doumbouya, won the presidential election held on December 28.
Preliminary results showed that Doumbouya garnered 86.72% of the vote, winning by a wide margin over the other eight candidates.
