On 25 October at Arkach shopping and entertainment center Malaysian tourism and cultural day was held. The event organized by the Embassy of the Malaysia in Turkmenistan brought together country’s culture lovers.
The event starts with Malaysian traditional games like congkak-a classic game of strategy and counting suitable for all ages, batu seremban or “five stones” similar of the Turkmen national game “Bäş daş”, and ceper-quick reflex games popular in Malaysian villages, as well as the game batik coloring for children under 12. At the same time, participants welcomed to visit the travel booth, in conjunction with visit Malaysia year 2026.
Participants enjoyed and discovered how Malaysians have fun the traditional way. The cultural performances that bring Malaysia’s artistic spirit to life. During the event, dancers performed the “Inang” dance accompanied by the classic tune nazam berkasih. Tarian inang is a graceful traditional Malay court dance known for its elegant movements and refined charm, often performed to welcome guests and celebrate joyous occasions. Then the dancers performed “Zapin melayu” – a lively traditional Malay dance influenced by Arab culture, featuring rhythmic footwork and graceful movements performed to upbeat music, symbolizing unity and joy in the Malay community.
At the end Malaysian food booth enjoy roti canai and teh tarik freshly prepared for participants of the cultural events.
