On November 16, within the framework of the World Chinese Language Conference – 2025 held in Beijing, the Turkmen delegation held a working meeting with the Director of the Chinese Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of Chinese language teaching in Turkmenistan. Special attention was given to the training and professional development of teachers, the continuation of the successful practice of inviting Chinese instructors, and the expansion of educational collaboration formats.
Key topics addressed during the discussions included:
• Deployment of native Chinese-speaking teachers to Turkmen universities;
• Development and methodological support for Chinese language centers;
• Exploration of practices for creating modern textbooks, digital and multimedia materials;
• Support for joint research initiatives;
• Organization of conferences, forums, and seminars;
• Implementation of short-term exchanges and summer/winter Chinese language schools;
• Educational camps and international youth programs;
• Provision of scholarships for learning Chinese and studying at Chinese universities;
• Promotion of intercultural dialogue and linguistic cooperation.
The Turkmen side expressed gratitude for the support provided and reaffirmed its interest in expanding joint projects, including internships, online courses, and exchanges involving Chinese experts. The significance of the work carried out under the memorandums signed with several Turkmen universities in 2023 was particularly noted.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, confirming the mutual commitment to strengthening humanitarian cooperation and developing academic ties between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
