The head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution defining the Ministry of Communications of the country as the authorized body for electronic documents, electronic document management and digital services, as well as for the work of the electronic government.
According to the document, the decision was made “in order to ensure the implementation of the tasks stipulated in the acts adopted for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan, the development of a high-tech and competitive digital economy through the widespread introduction of digital systems in the sectors of the national economy.”
In accordance with the resolution, the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan is instructed to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers within a month proposals for amendments and additions to the country’s legislation arising from the adopted document.
