UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan, has launched a new initiative aimed at strengthening the role of parents in early childhood development. The program included a three-day training for 25 kindergarten teachers, the goal of which was to improve the quality of interaction with families.
From August 26 to 28, teachers mastered modern approaches to education that promote the comprehensive development of the child and the formation of early learning skills. Teachers received practical tools for conducting classes with parents, and learned how to help families create a developing environment at home that complements learning in kindergarten.
The training participants will be part of a pilot parent support program that will start this academic year. It is designed to create a platform for regular exchange of experience between parents and teachers, providing professional recommendations on the upbringing and development of young children.
This initiative is part of UNICEF’s long-term cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan, aimed at expanding access to quality preschool education. Involving parents in the educational process helps families become more involved in their children’s development, improves children’s readiness for school, and provides them with comprehensive support both at home and in kindergarten.
