From March 16 to April 1, an open hockey championship for young athletes born in 2013–2015 was held in Ashgabat. Organized by the Sports School of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports, the competition took place at the Winter Sports Complex and brought together the strongest youth teams. The Oguzkhan hockey club, part of the Turkmengazavtomatika branch of the Turkmengas State Concern, demonstrated confident and effective play throughout the tournament.
In the final match, Oguzkhan faced the Burgut team of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism and Sports. The decisive game ended with a convincing 17-2 victory for Oguzkhan, securing first place in the tournament.
Several players on the winning team were awarded individual medals following the championship. Begli Gurbangulyev, Yunus Amangurdyev, and Ibraim Gayliev were recognized as among the tournament’s best players. Rakhman Imamgulyev was named the best goaltender, and Islam Atayev, who scored 39 goals, was named the competition’s top scorer.
Oguzkhan’s victory was the result of the team’s excellent preparation and well-coordinated teamwork, demonstrating the significant potential of these young hockey players.
