Over 56,000 students from Turkmenistan are studying at higher education institutions in Russia. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev at a meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation. The Deputy Prime Minister noted the successful work of the Pushkin Turkmen-Russian School in Ashgabat, which has over 1,800 students. He noted that dozens of secondary schools in Turkmenistan offer instruction in Russian, and that Russian is taught in all general education schools across the country.
Atagulyev also mentioned the Magtymguly Secondary School, built in the Astrakhan Region, where the Turkmen language is taught. “We highly appreciate the steps taken to further expand cooperation in this area,” he emphasized.
