Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the final meeting of the Central Asian Women Leaders’ Dialogue 2025, which took place on November 25 in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the website mejlis.gov.tm.
In accordance with the agenda, reports were presented on programmatic work being carried out to improve the effectiveness of gender equality efforts in the Central Asian region, as well as to empower all women and girls for the successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In their speeches, delegates of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan noted the importance of adopting the UN General Assembly Resolution “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust,” as well as the role of women in peace and security issues and the country’s ongoing work in this area.
They also noted the growing role of women in the political, economic, and social life of the country, emphasizing their important role in public administration, education, healthcare, public and international relations.
Speakers at the conference noted the significant contribution of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, established in Ashgabat, to the development of cooperation on pressing contemporary issues.
