On July 13, political consultations were held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Myahri Byashimova, and the Venezuelan delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tatiana Pugh Morena.
During the talks, a constructive exchange of views on the bilateral agenda took place; the level of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements, were discussed. It was stated that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Venezuela is developing based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutually beneficial partnership.
Noting the importance of bilateral contacts within the framework of various visits and international events, M. Byashimova emphasized the importance of such discussions for identifying specific areas of cooperation.
The parties noted with satisfaction the positive experience of interaction between the two countries on international platforms, in particular within the UN, where they provide mutual support and co-author significant international initiatives.
A common desire was expressed to intensify trade and economic cooperation, including in such areas as energy, the oil and gas industry, green technologies, and agriculture.
Special attention was paid to the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of culture and education. Possible initiatives for exchanging cultural programs, organizing joint educational projects aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

On the same day, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of political consultations mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela took place in the building of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
