Preparations for the construction of two new skyscrapers are ongoing in St. Petersburg. PAO Gazprom plans to build them next to the Lakhta Center, the tallest building in Europe (462 m). The height of the new buildings will be 555 and 703 meters.
In May 2025, the St. Petersburg Urban Development Committee approved the application of JSC Synergy to develop design documentation for the construction of the Lakhta Center-2 and Lakhta Center-3 skyscrapers in the Primorsky District. These works are planned to be completed by the end of this year, and the construction itself should be completed by 2031.
Experts point out that the project will affect the appearance of the city. The fact is that the historical part of St. Petersburg is generally characterized by buildings 7-9 stories high.
