On April 2-3, 2025, a representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participatedin the 9th meeting of the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, held in Geneva Switzerland.
The main objective of the forum – is to assess regional progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, eliminate challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, promote mutual learning and experience-sharing among governments, experts, civil society and business community as well as advance successful cooperation initiative and explore innovative ways for sustainable development.
During the seminar entitled «Sustainable Development Goals 8 – Decent work and Economic growth», the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in his speech noted the importance of the activities carried out under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in 2025, declared by the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan as the « International year of peace and trust», on the trajectory of economic development of our country, global economic relations, peacefully and mutually beneficial friendly relations, comprehensive development of the country’s economy, investment policy, expansion of the scale of export-oriented production, ensuring food security of the country, creating new jobs and providing social support to the population.
