FIFA referee Resul Mamedov from Turkmenistan has been appointed to officiate the second leg of the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Round of 16. He will officiate the match between Qatari club Al-Ahli and Iranian club Esteghlal, which will take place on February 18, today.
By decision of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Resul Mamedov will serve as fourth official. The match, which will take place at Al Thumama Stadium, and also will be officiated by Japanese referee Ryo Tanimoto. His assistants will be Asada Takeshi and Yosuke Takebe, also representing Japan.
Let us recall that the first match between these teams ended in a 2:2 draw.
Resul Mamedov, a referee from Ashgabat, is the son of the renowned former FIFA referee Mamed Mamedov. Mamedov has been officiating international matches since 2023.
