The ninth meeting of the Subcommittee on Humanitarian Cooperation under the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan G.S.Myradaleev and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Gao Zhen.
The parties discussed priority areas of humanitarian cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the traditionally friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
Education and Human Capital Development
Within the education sector, special attention is paid to academic mobility, the quality of personnel training, and the further institutionalization of cooperation. According to data for the 2025-2026 academic year, more than 7000 Turkmen citizens are studying at universities in China.
The parties considered proposals to enhance candidates’ academic readiness for study and the possible piloting of preliminary assessment mechanisms.
Prospects for expanding cooperation in personnel training in priority areas were discussed.
The importance of developing joint projects, including the creation of competence centers and joint laboratories, was noted.
Chinese Language and Academic Cooperation
Proposals for developing advanced training for Chinese language teachers and the joint development of teaching and methodological materials were considered.
Interest in expanding participation in scientific conferences and Olympiads, as well as in supporting publication activities, was noted.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on final language and signed the Protocol of the 9th Meeting, formalizing further steps to develop humanitarian and educational cooperation.
