A group of researchers has announced the start of preparations for excavating an unusual formation in Turkey that may be Noah’s Ark. We are talking about the 165-meter Durupinar hill, located just 30 kilometers south of Mount Ararat – this is where, according to the Bible, the ship landed after the Great Flood, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The shape of the formation resembles a boat, and recent studies have shown that rectangular structures may be hidden under the surface. The Noah’s Ark Scans project team conducted a radar scan and took soil samples, which recorded a high content of organic matter and potassium – signs of wood decay.
In addition, the grass inside the “boat” turns yellow faster in the fall than outside, which may indicate the presence of buildings underground. Analysis of the rock showed traces of marine sediments and microscopic marine organisms, the age of which is estimated at 3,500-5,000 years – within the supposed time of the biblical flood.
Scientists emphasize that there is still insufficient evidence, and direct excavations will begin only after a series of additional tests.
