“Why Every Business Needs a Lawyer” was the theme of the business seminar held on 31 October at the “Iş Nokady” Co-working Center in Ashgabat.
The seminar brought together experts from GRATA International, including Ikbal Said Alauddin (Managing Partner), Mekan Bashimov (Counsel), Serdar Amanov (Senior Associate), Lachin Amandurdiyeva (Senior Associate), and Annamenli Rozymyradova (Associate).
The purpose of the event was to inform both local and international business professionals about the crucial role of local and international legal advisors in ensuring the successful and sustainable development of their operations, as well as to officially introduce GRATA International Hukuk Consulting as a trusted legal advisor.
At the opening of the forum, particular emphasis was placed on combining a deep understanding of local specifics with international standards.
The seminar then proceeded in three sessions. The first session focused on corporate law and building a solid legal foundation and was followed in a Q&A format.
The second session addressed the fundamentals of contract law, including the preparation, analysis, execution, and termination of contracts. The speaker emphasized the contract as a primary tool for business protection and highlighted the advantages of alternative dispute resolution methods.
The third session focused on taxation and understanding fiscal responsibilities. The speaker discussed compliance with tax legislation, audits, and related issues. Reviewing Turkmenistan’s tax system, it was highlighted that the taxes applied to businesses in the country are considerably lower compared to other countries in Central Asia, Europe, and North America.
In conclusion, the speakers emphasized the value of the event and expressed their readiness to continue strengthening mutual cooperation with the business community in Turkmenistan.
