Berdiyeva Mahri, a 2nd-year student at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies of the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, was able to go on a study trip to Osaka, Japan from September 3 to 18, 2025, thanks to her sharp talent and ability in the Japanese language. The program, “Study in Japan for Japanese Language Learners,” selects its most qualified students through a rigorous, three-stage examination administered by the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan.
In April 2025, the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan hosted a Japanese language speech competition for students. The competition brought together students from the D.Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development. Berdiyeva Mahri was among the six prizewinners of the competition. After the competition, six participating students took a special Japanese language test. Despite being a first-year student, Berdiyeva Mahri’s perseverance paid off. She achieved first place in the final round, a Japanese-language interview, which earned her a trip to Osaka, Japan, on September 3 of this year. Mahri is currently in Japan, where she is studying Japanese language and culture alongside students from other countries. They also take special trips to historical sites in Japan.
