On 31th March, a telephone conversation took place between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
After exchanging greetings, the interlocutors sincerely congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of the two countries on the holy Oraza.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, noting his strong emphasis on developing cooperation with Turkmenistan, which takes the initiative to ensure global peace and sustainable development, conveyed cordial greetings and wishes for good health, well-being, and success from the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
The Prime Minister also extended warm greetings and sincere congratulations to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the occasion of the holy of Oraza.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the kind words, conveying greetings and sincere congratulations on the occasion of the holy of Oraza from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, and expressed best wishes to the head of state of the friendly country.
As noted during the conversation, beneficial cooperation is currently being carried out between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in all areas, including the political and diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian, trade and economic, energy, and transport and communications spheres. In this regard, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of further strengthening the bilateral partnership and enriching it with new meaning and content.
The energy sector is one of the priority areas of Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation. A clear example of this is the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, a high-voltage power transmission line, and a fiber-optic communication system along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.
Emphasizing the importance of these transnational projects, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif noted Pakistan’s interest in developing cooperation in this area. Also, congratulating the United Nations on the proclamation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” on Turkmenistan’s initiative, the Prime Minister stated that this is evidence of the broad support of the world community for Turkmenistan’s policy of positive neutrality, and that Pakistan will actively participate in international events held on this occasion.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif invited the National Leader of the Turkmen people, and the President of Turkmenistan to visit Pakistan at a time convenient for them.
At the end of the conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, confirming their readiness to further strengthen relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and their full support for efforts in this direction, wished each other good health and success in their government activities, and peace, well-being, and prosperity to the friendly peoples of the two countries.
