Acting Prime Minister of Thailand Anuthin Chanvirakun officially announced Wednesday his decision to run for prime minister on behalf of the Phumchaithai Party (Pride of Thailand) in the upcoming elections for the House of Representatives (lower house) of the National Assembly (parliament).
Speaking at a campaign launch event organized by his party in Bangkok that same day, Anuthin Chanvirakun stated that he has always listened carefully to the voice of the people. If the public re-elects the Phumchaithai Party, he will continue to serve as prime minister and will strive to build a stable, prosperous, and sustainable future for all Thai people.
On December 15, the Election Commission of Thailand announced that elections for the House of Representatives of the National Assembly (parliament) will be held on February 8, 2026. All political parties are required to submit their lists of prime ministerial candidates between December 28 and 31.
