Three matches took place on the final day of the postponed matches of the 16th round of the national football championship.
Altyn Asyr, the capital’s team, battling for second place in the league table with Shagadam, confidently defeated local Nebitchi in an away match in Balkanabat, scoring three unanswered goals. In another match, Shagadam from Turkmenbashi secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Ashgabat, the capital’s team. Ykhlas Makhtymov scored the only goal in the 21st minute. The third match of the round between Kopetdag and Merv from Mary ended in a goalless draw.
Let us recall that on the first day of the same round, the Arkadag team defeated Ahal with a score of 4:1.
Thus, based on the results of the matches played, the Arkadag team firmly holds first place with 63 points. Altyn Asyr, with 34 points, has moved up to second place. Shagadam, with 33 points and one game in hand over its competitor, is in third place.
The next championship game is scheduled for October 4: in the postponed match of the 21st round, Ashgabat will host Ahal.
