In the second half of October 17, the closing ceremony of the IV International Chemistry Olympiad among students of higher education institutions and the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Role of Innovative Technologies in Improving the Methodology of Teaching Chemistry” and the award ceremony of the winners of the International Olympiad were held at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
The participants of the ceremony toured the exhibition of achievements in the field of education and science, as well as the development of chemical technologies, and the values of national applied and decorative arts organized at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
Foreign professors and teachers who chaired the sections of the conference entitled “Innovative Methods of Teaching Chemistry” and “The Role of Innovative Technologies in the Development of Chemical Science” made reports on the work carried out in the sections and the issues discussed. The speakers at the ceremony noted that the IV International Chemistry Olympiad and the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Role of Innovative Technologies in Improving the Methodology of Teaching Chemistry” organized by the Magtymguly Turkmen State University were held at a high organizational level. Foreign participants who made outstanding speeches at the International Scientific and Practical Conference were awarded certificates from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. Then the ceremony was held at levels A and B in accordance with international standards, and the results of the IV International Olympiad in Chemistry, held by professors, teachers, and scientists from foreign and domestic higher education institutions and scientific institutions, were announced, and the winners were awarded.
About 100 students from 29 higher education institutions of the Russian Federation, Japan, the People’s Republic of China, the Italian Republic, Romania, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and more than 150 students from 23 higher education institutions of our country participated in the IV International Olympiad in Chemistry, which was held at levels A and B. Students studying chemistry at level A and other interested higher education institutions, as well as higher education institutions without chemistry at level B participated.
According to the results of the IV International Olympiad in Chemistry among students of higher education institutions, 63 prize-winning places were determined in the individual championship at level A, of which 14 were gold, 17 were silver, 32 are students who won bronze medals. Also, 57 prize places were determined at level B in the individual championship, of which 11 are gold, 18 are silver, and 28 are students who won bronze medals.
Students from higher educational institutions of our country participating in the competition won 57 out of 120 possible medals, among which students of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University showed the highest results, winning 25 medals, including 4 gold, 7 silver, and 14 bronze medals. According to the results of the IV International Olympiad in Chemistry, the winners were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as Diplomas of I, II, and III degrees, and incentive prizes.
