The Balkan shipyard has successfully completed an important stage in the implementation of the project for the construction of two dry cargo vessels with a deadweight of 6,100 tons, as reported the country’s MIC.
The specialists of the enterprise’s quality control department have been certified in non-destructive testing (NDT) at levels I and II.
The employees received certificates in two key methods: ultrasonic (UT) and magnetic particle (MT) testing. These methods play a decisive role in ensuring the safety and reliability of ships, since they allow detecting hidden defects and internal cracks in welds without damaging the material.
Such strict control is especially important in the construction of large ships, where the slightest mistake can have serious consequences.
Certification according to international standards is another confirmation of the Balkan plant’s commitment to continuously improve the qualifications of its personnel and the introduction of advanced technologies.
This step ensures that the construction of new dry cargo ships will be carried out in strict accordance with the highest international standards and requirements of classification societies, which in turn will increase the competitiveness of the enterprise in the global shipbuilding market.
