The grand winner of the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2025 was a 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C with a unique Tulipwood Torpedo body by Nieuport-Astra. This car, more reminiscent of a work of art, was purchased by the Andersons from Florida at a Sotheby’s auction just three years ago and is shown to the public for the first time in Monterey after a two-year restoration.
Judges noted the exceptional craftsmanship and rarity of the car: its mahogany wood body, aluminum rivets and torpedo-shaped form make it a genuine artifact of automotive history.
In my opinion, the jury’s choice is symbolic – it shows that the best passenger cars of the past still define the canon of beauty and engineering, and the debate about which car is better in the classic segment has long been resolved: authenticity and uniqueness win.
Pebble Beach has always relied on cars from the 1920s and 1930s, and this year’s result confirms that tradition remains intact.
