A festival commemorating the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality was held at the Joint Turkmen-Russian School named after A.S. Pushkin in Ashgabat, according to the country’s International Information Center.
The event brought together students, teachers, and parents, becoming an important occasion for cultural exchange and strengthening ties between the peoples of the CIS. On the day of the celebration, each class represented one of the CIS countries, highlighting the rich diversity of cultures, traditions, and customs.
Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s hospitality, symbolized by the kushtdepdi dance, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site. Students also performed folk dances, poetry, national dishes, and costumes. Festival participants shared the cultural heritage of their countries, displaying traditional ornaments, household items, and souvenirs. The festival became a shining example of how culture and mutual respect can strengthen peace and understanding between peoples.
