On March 17, 2025, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a conference on the «The role of women in strengthening global peace and security»
The conference, attended by representatives from UNESCO, UNDP, UNICEF, trade unions, and various sectors of the state, highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to international cooperation and peace. Discussions focused on the nation’s neutrality, international initiatives, and the protection of motherhood and childhood, emphasizing collaboration with UN agencies. The work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation was also recognized.
A significant outcome was the signing of a work plan between the Mejlis and UNICEF for 2025, aimed at implementing UNICEF’s program for Turkmenistan. Participants underscored the conference’s role in promoting Turkmenistan’s peaceful foreign policy and initiatives for global peace and development.
