The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by M.Chariev, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO, Sh.Seryaev, Head of the International Department of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, and L.Artykova, Chairperson of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan, is participating in the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport (COP10), taking place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 20 to 22 October 2025.
The session’s agenda covers a wide range of issues, including reporting on the implementation of the Convention, the activities of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport, reform of international cooperation mechanisms, and strengthening national capacities in education, prevention, and the promotion of anti-doping values.
This anniversary session, marking the 20th anniversary of the Convention, has brought together representatives of States Parties, international organizations, and experts to discuss the promotion of integrity and transparency in sport, the development of anti-doping education, and the enhancement of international cooperation.
During the meetings, the Turkmen delegation reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to the goals and principles of the Convention and expressed its support for UNESCO’s efforts to protect the integrity of sport and improve global mechanisms to combat doping. Turkmenistan’s activities in this field are based on the state policy pursued under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at developing physical culture and mass sports, strengthening public health, and promoting a culture of fair play.
