On December 17, the Alp Arslan National Drama Theater of Turkmenistan hosted the final round of the “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy – Bright Star of the Year” song and dance contest, which is considered one of the most beautiful events of the traditional festive program of events before the New Year.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan together with the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization, this time the contest was attended by talented young singers aged 17 to 35 from all regions of the country, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, who wanted to demonstrate their skills in front of a large audience. It should be noted that a large number of young talents participated in the creative contest, which was held in several qualifying rounds at the regional and city levels. In the preliminary round, a large number of TV and radio viewers voted for the most talented singers. The jury selected the most distinguished candidates from the contestants in terms of singing and performance, who won the love of the audience and received the most votes.
The winner of the contest, which was held by voting, is already known. In 2025, the winner of the “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy – Bright Star of the Year” creative contest was Govher Khojimuradova, who was awarded a portable trophy and a valuable gift. In addition to the main prize, the contest provided for first, second and third places. All prize-winners were awarded appropriate diplomas and commemorative gifts. In addition, in accordance with the Resolution signed by the Honorable President, young pop and amateur singers who participated in the final round of the contest were awarded commemorative silver medals “30 Years of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan”.
