The nominees for the Oscars, the highest award in film art, have been announced. The film “The Sinners” received the most nominations at the 98th Academy Awards. The horror film was nominated in 16 of the 24 categories, setting a historical record. The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, is registered as the film with the most nominations in Oscar history. The previous record belonged to 3 films. “All About Eve” in 1950, “Titanic” in 1997, and “La La Land” in 2016 were nominated in 14 categories.
The film “Sinners” was nominated in the main categories, including best film, director, actor, original screenplay, and supporting actor and actress.
“One Battle after Another,” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, also received 13 nominations. Oscar-winning actor DiCaprio will compete for the most prestigious statuette for the eighth time in his career.
The films “Frankenstein”, “Marty the Master”, and “The Price of Sensibility” were nominated in 9 categories and “Hamnet” in 8 categories.
For the first time, an award will also be presented for best casting.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on March 15. The ceremony will be hosted for the second time by famous comedian Conan O’Brien.
