The largest amber-colored jewelry diamond in the history of Russia, weighing 468.3 carats, has been left uncut for now, BelTA reports citing RIA Novosti.
According to the largest diamond mining company Alrosa, the diamond was mined in 2025, the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, in Yakutia. It went down in history not only as a record find, but also as a national symbol. The natural crystal was left uncut.
Earlier in May, the company announced that it had extracted the largest jewelry diamond in the history of Russia. The amber-colored crystal was named “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War”.
Alrosa occupies about 30% of the global and 90% of the Russian diamond mining market. As of the end of 2024, the production volume amounted to 33 million carats. The company’s reserves exceed 1 billion carats.
