At a government meeting on January 16, Speaker of Parliament D. Gulmanova reported on measures being taken to consistently improve national legislation.
As reported, work is currently underway to amend and supplement the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes, the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the Laws “On Migration” and “On Fisheries and the Conservation of Aquatic Biological Resources.”
Parliament also adopted a resolution scheduling elections for members of the Halk Maslahaty in newly formed etraps of the welayats, as well as for those who have resigned early from the Mejlis and for members of welayat, etrap, and city Halk Maslakhaty and Gengeshes. According to the resolution, the elections are scheduled for Sunday, March 29 of this year.
After hearing the information presented, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of consistently improving the legal framework as a factor in the progressive development of a sovereign state, as well as continuing to amend and supplement existing legislation.
