Contrary to popular belief, the United States is the world’s most reading country.
According to the World Population Review, the average American spends 357 hours per year reading, which translates into 17 books read. India ranks second (16 books and 352 hours), followed by the United Kingdom (15 books and 343 hours).
France and Italy rank fourth and fifth, respectively, while Russia ranks sixth with 223 hours and 11 books read per year. Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Spain also made the top ten.
