An Open Russian Language Competition has begun in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, with the goal of developing literacy, stimulating creativity, and popularizing the Russian language among the local population, according to the country’s International Information Center.
The Department of Education, Science, and Culture of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan with the support of Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University organize the competition.
Anyone over the age of 14 can participate. The competition will be held in person at the Russian House from November 25 to December 26, 2025. Assignments can be completed daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The competition consists of two sets of tasks:
1. Test questions: 15 tasks designed to test logic, order, and consistency.
2. Creative assignment: Writing a mini-essay on any topic, up to 300 characters long.
Each participant will receive a certificate, and the winners will receive valuable prizes. The names of the winners will be announced on January 26, 2026, on the organizers’ official websites. The awards will be distributed from that date.
